Council Member

Sonya Flores is a licensed broker and real estate developer in San Diego. She leads The Two Hundred initiative in San Diego and has been instrumental in organizing successful community housing conferences in July 2016 and July 2017. She represents The Two Hundred in a coalition to end redlining in conjunction with local organizations including LISC San Diego, the Chicano Federation, the Urban League, MAAC, Urban Collaborative Project, the Black Chamber of Commerce and the Black Contractors Association. Sonya has been an active member of BCA for many years and participated with Leadership Council Member Jennifer Hernandez and Supervisor Joel Anderson in a press conference at the San Diego County Board of Supervisor’s meeting in May 2021 to discuss the impact the Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) fee would have on communities of colors’ ability to own their own home in San Diego County.
